It has been years since I used QLC+. But now I again have a need to create some light/sound controls for a very small performing group. The Windows version of 5.0 Beta 2 appears to be very practical as you can do everything from a touch screen.

I have some nice 15" stand alone hdmi + usb touch screens, a compute module Pi version with floating 96 kHz audio. And also a new version of DiscoHAT with Schmitt triggers on all inputs. So pro quality sound without any background hum and hopefully no glitches.

Have you tried compiling 5.0 Beta 2 for the Pi? Or can I try to see how far I get?

PS. If 5.0 is out of the question I can also use my old setup as the premiere is at the end of May.

The 5.0 is still a Beta, so a few features are not yet fully stable and tested, but it is on a good track to completion as far as I think.

A RPi version is a licensed version which will probably be coming out after a stable 5.0 release.

So for a performance end of May, I would suggest to use a stable 4.x version. Nevertheless, you are welcome to test the 5.0 Beta version as well and let us know your findings here. Daily builds of both streams are on Github.

Using the Virtual Console, also the 4.0 is very well usable for a touch screen, but for the setup and programming, a keyboard and mouse is recommended.

Thank you! I did find the instructions to build the Linux version. And I have built Pi versions in the past also. So I am goimng to give this a shot. Even if I fail I have the version 4.x running already so there is nothing to lose.

For 1st time version 5 user it took me a long time to figure out that you need to drag new fixtures into the 2D view. I was looking for a Save button for ages once I added a fixture.
