Hi everyone,
I'm using ADJ WiFly PAR QA5 in 6 channel mode, and the strobing and master channel are mixed (attached screenshot)
The master is acting as the strobing, and the strobing is acting the master...
I tried to look in the QXF file (American-DJ-WiFly-PAR-QA5.qxf), but got a bit lost...
Can someone help me with fixing this problem or give me step-by-step instructions for how to do it myself?
Thank you so much!!

P.S. I'm attaching the channel mapping part from the official user manual of the fixture.
Thanks!

Please find the adapted fixture profile in the annex.
Put the profile in your personal QLC+ fixture folder. It will take precedence above the official one.
On Windows it's c:\users\xyx\QLC+\fixtures

I'm the author of that definition, I used the (rented, so I don't have access any longer) fixture about 4 years ago.
A few observations/remarks:
1. The manual you linked to is for a different fixture, a LED Bar, not a LED PAR fixture.
2. There are two devices - the WiFly EXR QA5 IP (discontinued) and the WiFly PAR QA5.
I don't remember which one was the one I had got but I strongly suspect the latter, as I try to name my definitions just like the fixtures are called officially, as recommended.
The manual for WiFly PAR QA5 confirms that in 6-channel mode channel 5 drives master dimmer, channel 6 is for colour macros.
The WiFly EXR QA5 IP manual shows a pretty different DMX chart, with up to 11 channels, and in 6 channel mode channel 6 is swapped to control strobe instead of colour macros. Otherwise it looks the same, master dimmer is channel 5.
So to summarize, I'm unsure why you experience this, but I cannot identify errors or swapped channels in my definition.
Even if you used it on the EXR fixture, just channel 6 would look wrong in QLC+., and the device would strobe while the channel in QLC would indicate different colour macros to be active.

Fredje, the only difference between yours and the distributed version is the QLC version string it got created with...
Code: Select all

I DO use the LED BAR, and not the LED PAR, so that explains the problem
I'm not 100% sure why I used the PAR qfx for the BAR... I guess that I decided it's close enough/being lazy about writing a new qfx
I still can't find the QA5 BAR version in the supported qfx list in QLC+ 4, so I'll use the modified PAR that Fredje was kind enough to modify for me.
Thank you everyone!!

Hi Edgar,
Thank you for updating the QLC fixture profile, but the file you've shared with us still have the same Master channel/Strobing/Color Macros mix
Did you replace channel 5 with channel 6 (and channel 6 with channel 5) in the "6 channel mode"?
Thank you!

Hello Sophia,
I'm the author of that file, GGGss/Fredje has tried to do the modification.
I tried to make clear in my previous posting that he somehow made a mistake because he did NOT swap these two channels, the only difference in the files is date of modification.
I missed that you still are using that file. I've adapted and renamed the definition now, erased/modified different mode configurations and even implemented missing 9 and 22 channel modes.
It passes the fixture validator, but lacks the correct physical properties. If you could test the definition and get back to me with any errors you find I'd be grateful,
Programming aliases (needed for 8 and 9 channel modes) is a bit tricky without being able to test with a real unit.
if all is ok, I'd try to get it included in the fixture library.
EDIT: Ah, I just realized that I had forgotten to add proper head definitions for 22CH mode, I'll work a bit more on it later and send an updated fixture file, possibly with corrected physical properties (I have found a more complete manual where I can pick that info).
EDIT 2: I've uploaded a new corrected definition. I've checked in the 2D Monitor, and it displays its dimensions and heads correctly (had to swap Width and Depth from what the manual said).

Thank you so much for doing this!!!
I've briefly checked the 6-channel mode by turning on all the channels (except strobing) and the master light and it worked well!
I won't be able to check the other modes unfortunately, as the bar is 20 feet toll on a tormentor, and I can't go up there unfortunately
I'll try to perform some deeper tests (on 6 channel mode) and hope to update soon.
Thank you again!!

You're welcome, That day I woke up and felt that I had got sick overnight, so I stayed in bed and made that in 2 hours or so, just before fever started to climb...
I have checked once more with QLC+ Simpledesk. 8CH and 9CH modes use aliases and seem to work as described in the manual. 22ch is straightforward and the only mode where the five lights become heads and can be controlled individually.
It also passes the validator, so from my perspective it would be fine to be added to the upstream collection. Massimo?
