I'm trying to create a large RGB pixel wall via WS2815 strips. I'm trying to determine how large it can be / how many pixels I can drive.

I will be using the LeDMX4 Max from DMXKing
https://dmxking.com/led-pixel-control/ledmx4-max

The description of this product says:
Up to 680 RGB pixels or 512 RGBW pixels per output spanning 4 DMX universes (2720 RGB pixels / 16 universes per LeDMX4 MAX)
I'm a bit confused by this, or how many RGB pixels I can actually control with it. I'm hoping someone here might have some knowledge on this device.

It has four output ports that can be wired to my LED strips. But as far as I can tell, I can only run one DMX universe from each port... and with each universe having a max of 512 addresses, for an RGB strip, I think that means 512 / 3 = 170 total pixels on each universe (each output port). So in total, with 4 outputs on this device, I can only control a max of 4 universes, which means 170 * 4 = 680 RGB pixels?

So any idea why the product description would say "2720 RGB pixels / 16 universes per LeDMX4 MAX"? To me it looks like that isn't possible here. Unless it is saying I can span multiple universes (4) per output port?

I was planning to build an LED pixel wall of 20x50, so a total of 1000 RGB pixels. But Looks like I might have to scale back my ambition as perhaps I misunderstood how many pixels this device could drive.

I understand this is really just a question more about the LeDMX4 Max product and not QLC+, but I'm hoping that maybe someone here would have some knowledge that could help.

Thanks.

I don't know the device but this page has a detailed description and states "Max 4 universes per port (total 16 for pixel outputs)".
Also the FAQ it links to, explicitely tells the same in its 4th entry.

4 universes per output-port; 4 ports = 16 universes.

I see, thanks. Further testing with the LeDMX4 Pro has been successful for me. That device has a config program, in there I specified the first output to start on Universe 1, and the 2nd output to start on Universe 5.
From there, in QLC+ I built out my lighting arrangement with the rgb panel tool. I created each column separately and added them to a group fixture to put them all together.

I'm successfully getting lighting commands from QLC to work with lights across 4 universes on each output. This thing is great!
