Hi fans of QLC+,
wonder if someone of you can help me.
I´m using QLC+ V4.12.2 on a Laptop with Win7 64Bit. Showtec Showmaster 24 is connected via MIDI to.
The Flash buttons 1-24 are working so far and I can assign them in QLC+.

My Problem is now to get the fader of the showtec desk to work with virtual faders of QLC+ to control some dimmer channels.
Recognizing the fader movement in automatic mode doesn´t work.
Has someone of you a step by step description of "how to do"?

best regards
Frank

Frank,
Welcome to the forum.

Tell us a little bit more about your setup.
You want to assign your external midi faders to faders inside the VC (Virtual Console)? Or are you looking at the Simple Desk?
In SImple desk, this is not intended to use external controllers.

I recently bought a Botex DC2448 desk for my theater, which is very similar to your Showmaster 24.

I've read the relevant MIDI section in both manuals and I would say the MIDI implementation is severely lacking.

Both manuals state that only the flash buttons send MIDI notes when pressed, no word about the faders. Otherwise it's all about sending and receiving MIDI standard files...

It seems that what you want to achieve simply isn't possible. If you're using a USB DMX interface and it has a DMX input, you can try to connect the Showmaster DMX output to that, and assign the faders to your virtual desk elements, something I haven't been able to try yet with the Botex, as it's constantly in use in a different room.

Thank you guys for your answers. I appreciate that very much.

I want to use QLC+ with the virtual console to setup different scenes with LED RGB/RGBW fixtures and some normal dimmer for PARs.
These basic scenes then should be controlled by the faders of the 1224/2448 desk.
I find it more comfortable and quicker to work with physical faders than clicking around with the mouse on the screen.
Chasers and my MACs are function buttons onscreen.
The problem is, that I have mostly amateur bands (Rock, Jazz, Folk) on stage which I don`t know. So it`s not easy to preprogram a full show
and I often have to act on the fly.

I found a 48 channel widget here viewtopic.php?f=30&t=10642 and I wonder how these faders are externally controlled cause it´s said that it should work with the scene setter board which is similar to the showtec.

I second what Edgar said. Showmaster only sends buttons over MIDI. You may use DMX input for the faders.

Tell us what DMX interface do you have, and whether it has any inputs (artnet is also OK, not just USB DMX).

Hi Jano,
thank you for response.
I`m using this cheap Enttec open DMX USb.
As far as I know this could be used as DMX out only.
Which Interface can I use instead for DMX IN to USB/artnet in your opinion?

cheers

The cheapest would be a Raspi + a Bitwizzard top mounted.
Have a look here: https://bitwizard.nl/shop/DMX-interface ... spberry-pi

The Enttec Pro MKII is a supported USB DMX input.

There are also other options. You don't need to go down the complex raspberry pie route

That equals a bank run ... Do not misunderstand me - I'm a great fan of the EntTec ;)

Raspberry isn't that complex - I've installed quite some, and where it's used commercially, I donated. Simple as 1-2-3 once you invest some time.
Yesterday even, again I burned an image; and within 10 minutes, I was up and running.

Hi guys,
thank you for your answers.
Just to inform you, I ordered a showtec Net2 Pocket interface.
Two DMX Ports which can be switched In or Out. Connection To PC over Ethernet.
Should arrive next week.
I`ll give you an update when I get it running.

cheers

Thanks for the update!

I've become a big fan of Artnet, since it holds dmx if the console looses connection (crashes lol).

Yes sorry, complex is probably an exaduration. It's amazing that it works on a raspberry pie.
