I like the new features of qlcplus5, especially the pallettes for programming and update the cues.
Do you know if there is any way to change universe in the patch?
As I understand it, this issue is a no go for a theatre tour.

As I understand it, QLC+ is beta and not to be meant using it in a live situation.
v5 is indeed a no-go for a theatre tour because of its beta status.
Why did you switch from 4 to 5 all of a sudden? You already had tad of programming days... Changing strategy at the last minute is surely a bad decission.

I haven't switched, I was asking for a near future, maybe with a simple performance I'd take the risk :)

Me personally would have checked the project file after taking a backup.
Now I would create a 2nd universe with the fixture present.
Going back to my text editor (notepad++) I would compare the 2 files and look for changes.
With some magic, I guess you can transfer all functions from one fixture to the other.
Be careful though: break the structure of the file and you break your project completely (therefore the backup).

An interesting fact is that QLC+ v4 has the ability to remap fixtures... https://www.qlcplus.org/docs/html_en_EN ... remap.html
Never tried it changing over universes. Intrigued by, I'm going to try this now
HAHA - it works over universes... problem solved.

Yes problem solved by adding complexity, isn't it?
Hopefully one day it will be implemented.

Dear Massimo,
do you think it's possible in the near future a solution for this limitation?
For me Qlc+5 beta was really far to be usable, are there any improvements nowadays for it?
Thanks

today I'm playing a bit with qlc+5,
also the solution proposed by Fredje is not feasible because of compatibility between v5 and v4
as stated here viewtopic.php?f=36&t=14511

maybe this feature could be added in the "fixture groups" by letting a fixture to be dragged from one universe to another?

What about conflicts/overlapping?
Have you thought about that?

yes:
when you patch a fixture it prompts for the first free address, it could also be this way when you change the fixture universe.
I was thinking of this solution because I was "guessing" that is mainly an ui problem, the dmx view shows only 1 universe at time.

I have implemented the feature with a simple cut & paste in the universe view.
Basically you can (multiple) select fixtures, cut them from a universe and paste them on another universe.
QLC+ will look for the first available addresses for each fixture. Afterward you can move the fixtures to the desired addresses within the target universe.

Chapeau Massimo,
looking forward to try it soon - and for real :))
Could you do an attempt at these 2 important features as well?
