Hi,

I'm wondering if I can add Midi-Notes manually without a DMX-device connected. I can add a note on the functions button properties but when clicking "ok" it does not save the note. Midi-Note "learn" works like a charm, I now wanted to add the notes manually and send a list to our light operator so that he can perpare his midi-controller.
Any help would be appreciated.

System
------------------
MAC OS 10.13.6. (High Sierra)
QLC+ Version: 4.12.4a

Not sure I fully understand you. Midi and DMX are totally unrelated, especially as connected devices.

Also, most Midi interfaces (the Korg Nano, the Akai MidiMix or APC40mk2) have fixed settings, ControlChange or Notes numbers that aren't necessary to modify since you can use the Learn function in QLC+. There are software to edit or tweak the output of midi interfaces, but that is more to allow several interfaces to work together.

You can add the notes manually, as you have seen on the "choose" button next to the "learn" button ; as the textbox says, double-click and fill the number, hit OK and you should have it. I know it works because to set the ring type of Leds around the knobs of the APC40mk2, I have to use a value of +8 on the controller - so I made a button that is tied to Midi Channel 1, CC 30 (to act on knob 6, which is CC 22), with a Custom Feedback of 0 / 6, which changes the led ring type to Pan style.

Unless the Mac version is different, of course, or you're talking of picking up the midi out of a lighting console. Preparing a show without the midi controller at hand is complicated in any case, but the light operator should be able to send to _you_ the actual addresses of the faders, knobs and such of its own controller, or you may try your luck online.

Don't forget to mention there is a possibility of creating an input profile as well.
In your described work strategy, the use of an input profile will become handy later on...

Hi, thanks for your reply.
When there is a possibilty to add the midi-notes manually then I have to try it on a PC. On my MAC I can add a note number but it doesn't save the input value.

The input value is given to QLC+ by the Midi interface ; if you assign Note 14 to a button, and a function to this button, then when hitting Note 14 on the interface, it will send a value of (usually) 127, or "Note ON", and when released a value of 0 or "Note OFF". There's no need to set manually the value, only the note (or cc) to listen to.
