Flash does what it means: Flashing without time / fades / ...
You will have to work around: by f.i. loopback Magic and a chaser with a zero-cue. With flash you advance the chaser and this will respect timings set.

[edit 2022/07/07: with the latest version 4.12.5 a flash scene __with__ a fade-out is now possible. See the release notes: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=15634
This work-around is no longer necessary.]

See attached demonstration file - as simple as possible, flash one dimmer channel with a duration of 100 ms then fade out 300 ms.
One shot per loopback button press (the button is set to flash mode so it's immediately able to trigger again).

Could the OP @tricot change the title of this thread to "Flash button with fade" please? It will help future searches by users.

Santiago,

Depends on what you want to achieve.
Example: I want one VC button to control 3 VC buttons (for whatever reason)
We create a separate universe in the input/output tab and select loopback. Select Input & Output.
Now we create a dimmer in the loopback universe.
We create a scene with that dimmer inside and a value of 255.
Now we create 1 + 3 buttons on the VC
In button 1 we bind it to the scene we just created.
We now go into operate-mode.
With the DMX-monitor we can verify that in the universe we defined the loopback1 channel, the value changes from 0 to 255 when we press the VC button #1
Switch back to design-mode
Create a (dummy) scene in the real output universe.
In the button#2 #3 and #4 properties, bind these to the dummy scene. We also set the External input to the loopback channel. Select Choose-button, open the universe where you arranged the loopback in, and double click inside the 'double click here'-field.
Enter the channel of the loopback dimmer (eg 1)
Go into produce-mode and now button#1 controls #2 #3 and #4.
You will notice that you have to click twice on button#1 for 2, 3 and 4 to disable again. Works as designed: you need a rising-edge to trigger things.

There are ways to change this, but this would be, again, depending on what you want to achieve...

hey all , i have yet to fiddle with loop back ive just been researching about it.. my goal is to activate a chase button in my VC and i want to be able to adjust the speed of when each scene is played in loop mode.... do i need to fiddle around with "loopback magic" ? to do this:? i read a post somewhere where you are able to just add a fader to that chase button to adjust its speed in playback mode of course. thanks!

In your case there is a easier way: use the Speed Dial widget. You can assign the 'hold' time of your chaser in the widget. I you want to use a slider to change the tempo, you'll indeed need some loopback magic. Create a dimmer channel in a Loopback universe and set the slider in level mode (and assign to the dimmer channel). Now use this signal as an external input to the Speed Dial Widget. Tip: set a low and high limit on the slider.
