Fader controlling function playback, but not intensity?

Hi,

I’m quite new to QLC and maybe have a dumb question, but I can’t figure it.

I have an virtual console fader in playback mode that starts/stops metrix, and also speed dial controlling metrix’s speed. I have attached the same external input to both, so by pulling fader on external controller I can start matrix and increase it’s speed.

The problem is that the fader in playback mode also affects matrix’s intensity, so by changing it’s speed I’m also dimming lights.
Is it possible to controll a function this way without changing it’s intensity (so the overall intensity can be stable set by another fader)?

But I want to have playback start/stop and speed dial on the same external control fader. That's the way my friend is controling effects on Avolite Tiger Touch. Simply drag one fader to start matrix and in the same time adjust it's speed. But I wonder if this is possible in QLC+.

I'll make one workspace as an example, couse my current one is little bit messy.

Hi,

I've created simple workspace as an example. Knobs are controllig PAR dimmers and colors, so I can adjust color and brightness as I want.
Then there is a fader that starts Even/Odd macro in mask mode and speed dial controllig macro's speed.

Now, when I pull the fader on external controller, I can run the macro from slow to fast, but also the fader is dimming all lights, so my brightness adjustment is useless until I turn the macro off.

We will have to do some loopback magic here. I hope you already know how to.
The trick is that you use a channel modifier on the loopback channel. Say 0-10 => 0, 11-255 => 255. So now you can start your function always with full intensity.
You will have to split the fader on the VC, otherwise, you won't be able to change the speed.

thank you very much! I felt that solution like this must exist. It was my first QLC+ loopback action so needed a while to figure it out, but that's exactly what I was looking for.

Seems like loopback in combination with channel modifier is a tool far more powerful then I can fully appreciate now.
