Xbox one controller via USB. Controlling a moving head (lixada PY-70) via separate sliders assigned in channel mode. Problem is the thumbsticks are never perfectly centered, so the head slowly drifts until it reaches the stop. Add a dead zone adjustment in addition to the sensitivity under the HID input profile editor window.

In relative mode, hmm... hard to do.
In absolute mode: Did you have a look at channel modifiers?
Or do the loopback magic with inputs limited to from-value to to-value. A lot of work for sure.

Right now i use another program for controlling the light.
But for controlling the MH with a Gamepad i use QLC+ as interface. I have 1 fixture with 4 channels (for two joysticks on the gamepad). These channels have 4 sliders on the VC, which are directly controlled by the Gamepad (absolute). These 4 channels have been changed with the channel properties. I attached two pictures:

Now you can send this in a loopback. And now you can use this loopback as your controller activated relative mode.
