Hello!
I drive a Rockville RockHaze 700 via DMX with QLC+, without problems.
Which make and model of smoke machine are you considering using? If possible, post the link to it in case I have trouble finding it.
My haze machine has 2 DMX channels, one for output, and one for fan speed. Pretty simple

Thanks, how do you do ? You consider your smoke machine as a fixture ?TristanYoung wrote: ↑Sat Jun 19, 2021 3:05 am Hello!

The manual says it uses one single DMX channel that controls intensity.
A fixture with just one channel doesn't really make sense (to me at least)...
Two small benefits could be:
1. the different symbol in the fixture list (fixture editor has a type smoke machine for that)
2. showing its physical size in 2D DMX monitor
Other than that I really see no reason for the hassle.
I'd just define a generic dimmer on the correct universe/address, call it Smoke machine and be done.

Looks like I was late to the reply party.
I agree with the responses.
I simply set my hazer up as a type: Hazer, added the channels listed in the manual and voila!
Fully controllable. Create scenes with varying amounts of haze/fog, add controls and scenes to Virtual Console, or control them in Scenes. QLC+ v4.12.3 will do what you want.
