Hi all, thanks in advance for your help. My issue is that when I boot up my RPi with the Bitwizard DMX hat, the lights flash to full on red very briefly during the boot up process (just before the gui is displayed) and then back off. Is there a way to stop this from happening? Thoughts? Thanks

Unclear what could be 'wrong'... when the RPi isn't powered there is no DMX signal, so I'd suspect that the DMX bus is reset and the lights react to this event?
What if, in running condition, you unplug the DMX cable from your lights and reattach. Upon reconnecting, do they shine red briefly? If Yes, it's a behaviour in your fixtures. (Some fixtures have a setting what they should do if DMX signal is lost. Go Black, Hold Last Value, Goto Preset Value, ...)

Thanks for the feedback it helped me solve the problem. The problem was in fact a problem with the fixture. It remembers the last dmx signal when it loses signal. So to avoid the flashing I simply have to make sure that the lights are blacked out to zero dmx signal before powered down. Simple. I appreciate the feedback to help a noob out!
