I have a sequence which represents my effekt:
Step. Hold. FadeOut
1. 80ms. 0ms. RED 255. ( a Derby )
2. 500ms. 500ms. RED 000. ( same derby )
Now there`s the beat: ONE TWO THREE FOUR and so on....
I want that this effect starts exactly with the Beat ( 1 2 3 4 ) ...80ms 255RED and the fadeout effect....next beat: 80ms 255RED and the fadeout....
When I use the new speed dial ( I use the VDJ-integration...I get the BPM ) and a button...both connected with the sequence....I get NO synch with the BPM...
When I`m using the TAB Function to get the BPM manually...it doesn`t work either.
Before using the sequence to create the "flashing light" effect I tried to get the effect via CHASER. However, the BPM-Synch uses the steps...
But I cannot find a solution to get the RED255(fully on) and(!) the instant fadingOut ( see sequence above ) on STEP1.
STEP 1 (BPM 1 ) RED255...Fading...
STEP2 ( BPM 2 ) RED255...Fading...
STEP3 (BPM 3 ) RED255...Fading...
STEP4 (BPM 4 ) RED255...Fading
When playing a song this would be a nice flashing light ( beat ) effect.... ( of course in a loop...wouldn`t need 4 steps...)
But it doesn`t work....
Maybe there`s an easy way to get this effect...or I`m too stupid to see !!!

I guess that you can get your lights to work ... but not in the sequence that you'd like to see? (In tempo)
Well... the 80ms + fade-out-time = 1 step.
So it all depends on how long you set the timing.
My suggestion is: forget Speed-dial widget. Use your BPM signal from VDJ and have it proceed to the next step in the chaser.
So your chaser stops at each step. The next step is controlled by the BPM signal.
Then you will see if the chaser is able to follow the BPM. If not, your fade-out-time is too long.
80ms equals 750bpm, so at 124bpm you could use up to 400ms of fade-time. (In this strategy I'd opt to even shorten it a little more to get the flash-on, fade-out effect.)

My main problem is, that the LightON and Fading OUT doesn`t work in one Step...I need a second step with the redlight(off)...otherwise there`s no FadingOUT.
FadingOUT in the terminology means...FadingOut to the parameter settings ( colour, dimmer etc. ) of the nextStep...and that`s my problem.
I`m working with DASHLIGHT4 at the moment...however, I want to change to QLC+. In DASHLIGHT I can create this effect by creating a scene with 2 steps.... First Step...LightON...second Step....LightOFF...and the corresponding FadeOut between the two steps...LOOP.
The essential thing is the triggering...in DASHLIGHT I can trigger the BPM per step or per scene...I have 2 steps ( I need it, because otherwise there`s no damn fadeout )...if I would trigger the BPM per step ( and that`s my problem here ) ...there would be another (boring ) effect...BEAT1...Light on.....BEAT2....Light full on and THEN Fading..
When triggering BPM per scene I get my effect...BEAT1...the whole scene ( with the 2 steps ) is executed...LightON...Fadeout...Boom...BEAT2...same.
Unfortunately I cannot generate a nice sequence with other pattern there...I could create several scenes ( all triggered with BPM per scene )...but DASHLIGHT doesn`t allow the jumps from one scene to another when this kind of triggering is used...I don`t know why...

Well, let's get even crazier than... use a chaser inside a chaser. The sub-chaser does the on-fade-out sequence step autonomously. The main chaser is fed with the BPM signal. When an input gets in, it executes the sub-chaser. Per the next beat, the same sub-chaser is executed again. The sub-chaser is 'one shot', the main chaser is 'per step'.

That is a budget question... if you want to be safe for the next future and you are working with bigger rigs - I would suggest the Enttec Pro MK2 or DMXKing eDMX2 PRO. 2 outputs, and internal processor and the possibility to adopt the DMX timing internally. (If you deal with Chinese knock-offs, this might be necessary...)
If you have modest size productions in mind - a processor less interface might also work - now your computer is taking the workload for the DMX timing.
If you easily can implement Artnet or sACN - then your options list grows significant ... but this is way more complex than 'plug and play'.
