Mute/Unmute a track during playback | remote start playback

Ask a generic question about the usage of QLC+, not related to a particular operating system

I've got QLC+ talking to my ESP8266 via ArtNet and sending DMX to turn on/off a LED. Now I'd like the ESP8266 to talk to QLC+ and remotely control it. In particular, I'm hoping to get it to do two things, but I don't know whether QLC+ supports either:

1) Remotely start playback of a show

2) Remotely mute/unmute tracks during playback
(I've found that even muting/unmuting tracks during playback in the program itself, i.e. not remote, doesn't seem to work. The mute state seems to be taken from the state prior to playback starting. In other words, you can't start playback, then press mute on a few channels to have them go away, you need to stop playback first. Maybe I'm missing something? Same issue with solo)

Don't post outside of the thread, please... We try to keep the forum tidy.

You can start a show bound to a button on VC. You can bind an external control to this button - problem solved.

S/M is only to be used while developing the show...
As explained in the other thread, QLC+ is not a DAW and you might not see what you are expecting comparing things with the workflow in a DAW.
All electric machines work on smoke... when the smoke escapes... they don't work anymore
