So I have a show file currently built on a mac computer and I want to transfer it and have it work on my PC. When I open the exact same file on PC it opens as a new blank workspace on QLC.
What am I doing wrong/is there a way to get this working?

I had good luck translating from Mac to Windows. I switched to Windows because I needed a touchscreen (Apple missed the boat on touchscreen laptops).
First of all, for some reason, on Windows 10 you have to launch QLC first, then open your show file from within QLC. If you double-click your show file, it will just launch QLC, but not open the file.
Second, any type you have on VC widgets will show differently because of different fonts. No big deal to tweak.
Third, you might have to re-import any images you might have had in the VC. And one thing that puzzled me was the Windows version doesn't work with JPEG. I finally figured out PNG images will work.
Fourth, if you have any custom fixture profiles, you will need to know where to put them in Windows. (this PC/c drive/users/your user name/QLC+/fixtures). Do not put your custom fixture profiles in QLC+/fixtures at the root lever of the C drive.
Finally, you might need to do other minor tweaks, but I've come to find show files and custom fixture profiles translate good across platforms.
Hope this helps.

You have to undo the install and re-install QLC+ with administrative rights. The correct file extensions did not get registered; hence double-clicking a show file will open QLC+ but not with the show file open.NiteLites1 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 7:30 pm First of all, for some reason, on Windows 10 you have to launch QLC first, then open your show file from within QLC. For the other topics, I have no experience with Mac.

How do you install with admin rights? I have absolutely no idea. I tried reinstalling and saw nothing about that.
