Subject: Lock some scenes, end user only manipulate other scenes.

Ask a generic question about the usage of QLC+, not related to a particular operating system

Hi good day

I just started the water fountain maintenance business. I recently started this business where I clean the ponds, perform maintenance on water pumps and submersible cables, I also include lighting control.

I have little money at the moment I cannot buy the license of a software that suits my work, as in the case of Madrix and other software that are designed for water fountains.

Therefore I am using Q Light Plus for lighting and pump control, both with DMX, since I developed electronics that receives the DMX signal from the software and interprets it into signals to control three-phase pumps, all controlled with DMX and in Linux operating system and I developed scripts that are executed in the operating system for the automatic startups and shutdowns of Q Light Plus in times that the client indicates.

But now I have the challenge of carrying out a project where I have to teach the operating personnel how to program new lighting routines without them moving the programmed scenes for water pump control, since they could damage some equipment.

I would like to know if it is possible to block some scenes? Or if there is some other solution.

Second question:

I really like this software, it has helped me a lot. Always respecting Massimo Callegari and his credits for this magnificent software, I would like to ask, Is it possible that at some point some things can be added according to the needs of my projects? If possible, of course, always respecting the credits of Massimo Callegari, how much would it cost to make these changes?

Thank you, greetings, good day.

Hey,

So there's no per-function/scene/etc locking mechanisim built in to the system, however the storage file is XML .. so you should be able to write something that merges from a known "good" file into your working file after edit. Handling conflicts and such would be alot more complex a problem, but this might be the easiest way to do what you're thinking of doing.

As far as features, we have a whole forum section for that! You can certainly put your requests there.. or better yet .. code em up and send in a PR. That being said, QLC+ is quite flexible and you can probably ask how to do something .. and someone here can probably come up with a way to do it.

Lastly, as a fellow linux geek .. great work! I've been working on an ansible repo with roles for doing alot of the grunt work of deploying and managing DMX and lighting stuff. Would you be willing to contribute your work? Either PM me or goto github.com/sandinak/ansible-raspi-dmx to see some of the work. I've also started github.com/sandinak/qlcplus-tools .. and working to move code over.

Uoooo, interesting the work you have done so far, congratulations.

Actually my greatest achievements have been in electronics, at the software level I am new, I have only made scripts in python to execute the on and off of qlc plus in its kiosk mode.

But I will observe your work closely, I hope I can help with something. If there is something that helps me for my projects, I am willing to make a monetary contribution for you, since I believe that all efforts should be rewarded.

Thanks for sharing, greetings, good day ...
