I'm new to QLC+, so this could be user error (probably is)
I'm using windows. Latest versions.
I used the fixture editor to create a .qxf file.
I moved it into the C:\QLC+\Fixtures directory in a subfolder that was the name of the manufacturer.
It didn't appear in QLC+. I tried finding help about the correct way to "import" these. The import feature imports a list and is a different file type.
I found the "FixturesMap.xml" file, and using the format I saw I added an entry into it for my fixture.
I started QLC+, and added my fixtures to a project. this worked!
I saved the project and closed QLC+
I opened QLC+ again and tried to open my file, but it tells me "No fixture definition found for Rollrc Par 36 x 1W RGB Led Uplight".
The fixtures in my file have all been set to dimmers. I go to properties and I still see the RollRc fixture! I can even select it again and that light starts working again! But as soon as I try to save and reopen the project I loose all my fixture associations again.
Did I import the fixture incorrectly? What am I missing?
Thank you for your help!!

You did it the wrong way. You need to use the user folder, not the system folder.
Take your time and read the documentation, especially this page:
