So I built a pretty long chase sequence with 4 colors, and am now wondering if its possible to clone it, and then change one or more of the colors on all the steps globally. By that I mean is there a way to go in and say all the GREENS should now be YELLOW, without affecting the other colors in all of the steps.

Show files in QLC+ are stored in XML format.

If you are very careful, (make a copy first) it is possible to edit the file directly and make changes with any good text editor.

Just use find and replace to edit your cloned sequences.

You will have to do some experimenting to determine the values you need to change.

I've never actually opened up the file with a text editor. All I see is lots and lots of numbers, but I can see what appears to be the 'steps". Need to test a smaller file first... less steps... just to see if I can get it to work.... but if I can, this will be a BIG HELP!

Thanks

Editing the file definitely has its uses...

I use BBEdit on mac which has very good find and replace tools. The option you really need is the ability to find and replace in selected text. That way you can select all the steps in a sequence and only change the fixture settings in those steps.
