I am looking for some help establishing a workflow to implement and operate a few fixtures. I am a mobile DJ and have some very basic experience with DMX controllers, very basic though. I am wanting to take more control of my lights and work on making a more intelligent light show. I have Chauvet lighting - (2) 4 Bar fixtures and (1) Swarm 5 FX.
The manual for QLC+ has a lot of great info to describe different functions and how they work. I am having trouble establishing where to get started and how to get fixtures to work.
I run Ubuntu on my laptop and have an old Enttec Open DMX device.
Is there a guide somewhere that will guide me through the steps needed to add a fixture and make it work?

I'm in the same boat - looking at migrating from using Freestyler for a couple of years for my church. The videos in the tutorials section do a great job of walking through the basics. I'm not usually a big fan of videos (no patience), but these are really helpful.
