Hi all !
I work in a bar that have karaoke 7 days a week, and I want to add a DMX control software that could react to sound/tempo, either thru audio-in, or through the midi from VirtualDJ Pro.
Ideally this kit would be self-operating, i.e. I would like our karoke DJ-animator to have as little work on the lights as possible.
Is there a way that VDJ crossfader could be used to change light presets? (Like, switching from a preset to the next as the karaoke animator switches between songs).
If there's no options for that, how easy it is to just manually tap the tempo of a song into QLC (via midi, OSC, keyboard, etc), so that lights react rather in tune with the music's tempo ?
Sorry for the nooby questions, I'm just a soundguy
any suggestions for a karaoke setup ?

OS2L is pretty easy to sync the beat between QLC+ and VDJ. If you have a timer widget in the console, you can have all of your chases's timing be synced with that timer. You can trigger scenes with POI in VDJ (but that's a lot of work for each track), you could make a huge chase, or have an external midi controller, like a launch pad, that your operator can press to change scenes, while everything is still in sync with beat.
