Copied functions are not unique

Hi all,

So I’ve read this forum and it seems there was or still is a minor bug so copied scenes and chasers are still bound to the original. Who can tell me if this is still true? I think I’m having some issues with my show file that I can’t explain and could be related to this. Because I am using copied chasers, and sometimes I copy those again (I don’t know that because the names have been changed) and I suspect some settings change on the original chasers if I change the copy. (Or the other way around)

And if so, if this is true perhaps one of you experts found a way to just query and change the xml to ‘loose’ the bounds? Or can someone point me in the right direction what I could try to reproduce this? I have tried it but when you want it to happen it doesn’t.

Have a great weekend! Gerard

Its not ture any more. When you copy a sequence, the bounded scene will copied too!

The only difference are tracks in shows. each track is bound to a hidden scene. All sequences in this track share the same hidden scene. THis make sence, cause you use the same devices on each track!

Aha, thank you, now I look where to look. I only work with the show function and I might have found an issue with that, or not, I am not sure yet. But when adding a sequence to a track, QLC automatically makes a copy of that sequence. I know that because within the track it is always named bla bla, copy. So what I do now is delete the original and after that, rename the copy. I do not want copies of all sequences since that makes now sence, and I did not know it has a hidden original, or something

I will try to figure out if the things I encounter have got anything to do with this. Thank you and I will keep you posted!

Hi CoS2000,

I am not able to exactly tell you where the problem is yetbut I am working on it. But it all started in 4.12.1 fo me (I am new) and has (i think) got something to do with cloning sequences and the show function.

When cloning a sequence, I sometimes also change the scene name because I need to use it in a different track or even a different song. Up untill now, it is not possible to do that and I reported this before. So when changing the scene name it will still only appear in the track with the original scene name.

And when using it in an other song I believe something strange can/do happen. But again, still trying to reproduce and descibe better!
