Layout presets for virtual console

Hey there

I thought it would be very nice to have the option to save/export and import layouts of the virtual console (of course without the linked scenes, just the raw layout (button-/slider-...postion/color...))

I am using QLC+ for about 3 years. I am using my laptop with a second touch display and the Behringer X-Touch Compact (has motorised faders!) as a Midi controller.
To have an easier overview i am design the virtual console most like the X-Touch is layouted.
But using this method for very different kinds of shows (for example Theater and Rock´n´Roll-Shows) it´s a bit annoying to layout the virtual show all the time.
Also tried to copy the showfile and just delete all scenes,fixtures,... and only let the virtual console stay, but reseting the layout to delete the specific labels of the object or their colors.

I guess this tool would be very nice to have, because it could save very much time and frustration.

My respect for your work Massimo!!! Can´t wait for new updates and especially for QLC 5+

I know that within a file you can copy/paste a selected number of controlls in VC.
Can't you do the same between files?

Hey Eldin,

checked your point out and found out 2 things (made this on QLC+ 4.12.2):

1. You only can copy 1 element in VC in a showfile. (I want to export(/copy) the whole VC layout (without linked scenes, ... of course))

2. You can´t copy files between 2 showfiles.

So it´s not possible and not thing that i´ve meant, but thanks for the idea

I think the VC has a separate spce inside the QLC+ showfile... It's like a regular .xml file you can easily edit...
Maybe the whole VC can be copied like that??
Take a backup before you edit the file - if you break its structure, you break the whole project.

Already thought about this.
But how should i edit or extract the VC part of the showfile? And if i get it how to import it into another showfile?
