TouchOSC and MIDI

Ask a generic question about the usage of QLC+, not related to a particular operating system

Hey dudes and dudettes,
After consulting all the threads I saw on the old "midi input" issue I am at my wits end. Not that I was too witty to begin with...

Setup: Laptop, Win10 64 Bit, QLC+ 4.12.2., uDMX dongle, Samplitude 16 DAW
here's the qxw with my apparently faulty settings https://www.dropbox.com/s/2e0fuputv8eec ... t.qxw?dl=0

After having installed TouchOSC to remote QLC with (working fine) I wanted to switch to controlling QLC from my DAW, since I find it easier to handle my audio backing tracks that way and our new drummer is ok with cueing tracks from a laptop (unlike the old one who refused anything electric and even moaned about a tiny headphone preamp which made his in-ear signal better, seriously what's wrong with people? I digress...apologies...)
So, when I want to set up a MIDI input in Universe 1 the only option I get is Touch OSC. Should be okay, right?
I have set the midi output in my DAW to TouchOSC and the midi channel to 3, as suggested in the QLC settings

On the I/O page of QLC no joystick appears though, MIDI seems not to be getting through.
Am I doing anything fundamentally wrong here?

Also I did check for my firewall but anything that looks like qlc+, touchosc or samplitude has been okd, so it shouldn't be that.

once again, cheers to all of you for your time and thought!

Hmm apparently it did have something to do with touchOSC.
I installed LoopMidi https://www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/loopmidi.html and used that and now I do get a connection in the I/O but I still don't get my VC buttons to react.
