Can I skip a cue in cuelist?

Hi there,
I'm using QLC+ with VPT8 (a video mapping tool). I need to run the cue's from a one switch foot controller for a theatrical production. However for some of the cue's I require QLC not to respond. Cue 4 is a collection with audio and a chaser Cue 5 is a video on VPT8. The Cue 4 on QLC has to keep running. Then cue 6 has to do something with a scene, etc..
So, can I skip a Cue?

Replace it with a dummy cue?
All electric machines work on smoke... when the smoke escapes... they don't work anymore
