Hi there; sorry for my bad english :D
I just installed QLC+ into actual Linux Manjaro-Mate (Arch based). I did this over the QT5-Link (Arch). Just works fine but i cant start QLC+ in german language. Then i tried over terminal, using "qlcplus -l de_DE". QLC+ starts, but not in german.
Any time ago i used QLC+ in Ubuntu 16.04, installed via PPA. That installation was in german then.

Can anybody helps me?
Thanks a lot :)

[moderator] moved to QLC+ 4 questions. Another one not saying which version he's using.

Thank you Massimo.

Had installed now QLC+ 4.12.1 by using this way:

https://software.opensuse.org/download. ... lcplus-qt5

I use the actual Manjaro Mate (arch based). All works fine, but i can not use in german language.
Using "qlcplus -l de_DE" via terminal starts the program, but not in german.

Can anybody helps me? Where i can find the problem?

Thank you very much!

Have you installed german language support on Manjaro?. On Ubuntu 18.04 I tested qlcplus -l de_DE and I get qlcplus in german.

Thanks for you answer!

Iam following this wiki:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Locale

I have check in terminal:

Code: Select all

[jensp@t420-jens ~]$ locale
LANG=de_DE.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC=de_DE.UTF-8
LC_TIME=de_DE.UTF-8
LC_COLLATE="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY=de_DE.UTF-8
LC_MESSAGES="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER=de_DE.UTF-8
LC_NAME=de_DE.UTF-8
LC_ADDRESS=de_DE.UTF-8
LC_TELEPHONE=de_DE.UTF-8
LC_MEASUREMENT=de_DE.UTF-8
LC_IDENTIFICATION=de_DE.UTF-8
LC_ALL=
[jensp@t420-jens ~]$ localedef --list-archive
de_DE.utf8
en_US.utf8
So it looks like that the language package is already installed?
I tried starting with using "qlcplus -l de_DE.UTF-8", the same problem.
I checked at another Manjaro with XFCE. The same, no german language.
Anyone a idea where i could look?
Could it to be linked in QT5?

On my laptop I use Ubuntu 18.04 normally I install catalan, spanish and english language support on my computers. As a qlcplus catalan translator I installed too qt linguist and their requirements. I found on my system this package qttranslations5-l10n maybe this is the culprit.

Hmm had found the "QT5-translations 5.13.0-1" on my system. And the data is saved in /usr/share/qt/translations/...

By the way: the short description of the program in the start menu is in german: "Qlight Controller Plus - Lichtsteuerung" and "QLC+ Fixture Editor - Gerätedefinitionen bearbeiten".

I think, Manjaro uses other directories than ubuntu...could that be?
Has anyone a arch based system and use QLC+?
I could try to use the QT4 Version. The installation by the tar.xz packages has not solved my problem

On Ubuntu qlcplus translation files are in /usr/share/qlcplus/translations/ folder.

I will install a xubuntu system at another pc for testing.
How did you install QLC+? Via downloading the packages or via massimo's repository?

Okay i had test now the debian package for xubuntu. This works in german language.
The installation via repository i had not test.

So i could copy the folder "translations" in my manjaro test machine as root.
This works fine! I know, that this is not the correct way... but has the correct effect :D

Thank you all, and if Massimo has fix the problem, the QT5 installation way will be nice.

Hi Massimo!

Hmm... i had downloaded here: https://software.opensuse.org/download. ... lcplus-qt5
Is this wrong? Had checked today morning and the translations folder is empty after installing a fresh system. So the language is only english.

As I said, you need to download qlcplus-qt5-git: https://software.opensuse.org//download ... us-qt5-git
qlcplus-qt5 is a released version, so I cannot change it anymore.

Ahh okay now i see... i always follows the link here in the forum via "downloads". So there is the uncomplete version.

Will try now via the new link. So if i change the line in pacman.conf, it should work.
Many thanks for your help!!
