I'm using my raspberry pi and QLC+ for the sole purpose of saving cues. I have a crappy old light board that works, but is only sliders. I was wondering if I could hook up the light board to the Pi via a uDMX cable. Would this allow the board to control the sliders/dimmers I see on the QLC+ console? The problem is that the theatre needs cues, since they are doing shows to large to live mix.
Thanks

the uDMX does not allow being used as DMX input. So NO.
If you'd use an interface with an input and an output (Enttec pro f.i.) you could snoop DMX signals coming from your desk and pass them through to your DMX output.
While you have these signals you can live DMX dump them inside cue's as requested.
So yes it is possible but you need an other interface.

All electric machines work on smoke... when the smoke escapes... they don't work anymore

The simplest/cheapest way is probably buying a USB MIDI controller and forget about your old desk. Such a controller then will only offer 127 value steps per control, while DMX uses 256... normally not a big deal.
Or see what Bitwizard offer: https://bitwizard.nl/wiki/Dmx_interface ... spberry_pi - several posts here mention these.
Or, as mentioned, get an interface that has DMX input and output. For example Enttec DMXUSB Pro Mk2 physically has one input and two output DMX ports, but you can use only two at a time - either one in/one out or two outputs...
They won't "fight" each other BTW.

I belive I have an MIDI controller, so I'll try that. Would that connect straight to the Pi or to the splitter? Also, I just got my virtual desk working and I'd like to confirm that the MIDI would work with the virtual desk as well as the simple desk.
