Using of an APC Mini and Artnet at the same time as Input possible

Hi together,

I'm still a beginner within QLC+ and DMX. I have 20 little (China) PARs, 4 (also China (Lixada)) Moving Heads, 4 UV-Pars and 2 "Discoballs" and I'm still learning.

Actually I have connected Virtual DJ via Artnet to get the beats of the sound, working fine. I also have an Akai APC Mini - Midi-Controller and want to use it for switching effects or "override" the beats from Virtual DJ. Actually I have only 1 Universe (because I did not really know why these are there), but I cannot use ArtNet AND the APC Mini both as inputs at the same time, am I right?

Is it general possible to use ArtNet and a manual Controller?

Add two more universes so that you have three of them:

1. for DMX output
2. for Artnet input
3. for APC input

You can use both artnet and APC at the same time.

You just can't control one widget (button, speed dial) by both artnet and apc. You have to choose. If you really need to, it might be possible using some loopback magic. In QLC+ 5 it's supported, but QLC+5 is not ready yet.

thank you for your quick response ... slowly I think I'm unterstanding how all of this works.

Actually (it's a little bit late to test) I defined universe 1 with input Artnet and Output USB2DMX, then a universe 2 with input APC mini and no output. Now I'm able to choose this different universes as external inputs ... i will try!
