Hi kinda new to the program here wondering if I can get some help here. I have some beam lights and I want to create a function that will like flash the lights once while moving the head from up to down onto the crowd. I can't figure out how to do it with a fx since the only one that would work is the line movement but thats too slow, and a script isn't working. I need the white light to fade in and out quick while the head moves from a straight up to down position

flash does not equal fade in and out -> flash is on off.
head movement:
* 2 cues: upper position & lower position
* chaser with these cues inside. (play with fade-out in the first step)
* choose 'single step' in your chaser - so it runs only once.
This settles the movement.

Is it one flash or multiple or do you want your lights to be on while the move goes?
If lights have to be on while moving: make a cue with intensity 100%; create a collection with the 100% & upper position.
Change chaser step 1 with this collection. The moment your head will move downwards, the light will be lit.
Create a cue for the 0% intensity and add it to you chaser (before or after the last step).

Trying to do this with just an EFX, won't work because you want fixed positions (start & end) and a specific setting for intensity.
If you'd request a parabolic movement (slow start at top, fast movement in the middle section and going to the low position slow again - would request for an EFX. But then the EFX should be started within your chaser - and this on turn would demand for a virtual fixture in a loopback universe which en- / disables the EFX.

I hope this makes it a little bit more clear.
