Work with a small theater group looking to upgrade control of existing lighting control system. Have no real experience in lighting control.
The existing system consists of a 6 circuit 0/10v analog control box with each circuit controlling 2 dimable PAR lights (not sure of wattage). Want to be able to replace existing control board with a new DMX to analog interface and to be able to add additional fixtures to the lighting system by using Qlite + to control the existing lights a well as some new LED lights. The new LED's will have a separate power source of course.
Have just started to work with Qlite+ and at this time am finding it quite confusing, but with time will work it out.
Not sure if this is the right forum to ask these questions but any suggestions as how to proceed would be appreciated.

In your setup if you have dimmer packs, it would help immensely. If you do not I would recommend the Optima Matrix 4 Channel packs. They are relatively inexpensive and work quite well with a small theater space and easy to use. As for using QLC+. Check out USB to DMX boxes I personally like the DMXking line and are sturdy and work extremely well. For controlling your fixtures within QLC+ (I apologize if I am being rather elementary, it is not meant to come across as insulting) Start with your fixtures and addresses first , the simple desk will automatically take those addresses in the universe so you can start controlling. As for the Virtual Desk, you're able to design how you want to control and be designed for whatever show you'd like. It is very flexible. If you want some more info please feel free to PM and I will be happy to help with what I know.
