I am considering a couple of controllers with 4 universes like the following. Are either suitable and if so which one to go for?

Hi,
Thanks for that. Can I plug my DMX 3 PIN cable straight in to this? If not how do I connect my DMX cable to the lights?
Warm thanks,
Steven

There are clamping pads there can be connected as 3 contact or 5 contact slots

My DMX cable is like https://goo.gl/images/K8F9AR
I presume I have modify it and expose the wires to go in the clamps?
Thx,
Steven

if things might not work (or erratically)
***** Hey wait a minute ******
We assumed timing issues with the multi thread design introduced with v .12
****** but ******
erratic DMX behaviour can also come from the DATA+ and DATA- being switched over. US standards vs EU or ROW
First thing I had to do on my brand new Enttec Pro MK2 is to change the 5 pin connectors to 3 pin (obvious reasons ... 5 pin is 28x as pricey as 3 pin) AND !! [color:red]switch Data+ and Data- to get it working...[/color]
@massimo - is this legit? no timing issues before - multi thread = timing issues on mainly Chinese interfaces? (the DMX data+ and - may be wrong)

All electric machines work on smoke... when the smoke escapes... they don't work anymore

Yes, certainly don’t want timing issues with these Chinese controllers. Worst case scenario if it does cause problems, will just swap out for one of the more expensive tried and tested controllers instead.GGGss wrote: ↑Sat Jan 12, 2019 12:26 pm if things might not work (or erratically)

Hi! This kind of job = dedicated mainly for DIY hobbyists ...many times it happened that You don't come to the end of the project. There's an idea to fix the particular device like China device or Enttec USB DMX PRO MkII on a particular 1/2 19''rack case, and mount up there those DMX 3pin connectors, USB, RJ45 etc etc. Of course you'll have to read carefully the specs where DATA +/- wires gets on. But yes, you need to have fun with doing it DIY/(Do_It_Yourself). Regards
