Fade In AFTER Pan/Tilt is Complete

Ask a generic question about the usage of QLC+, not related to a particular operating system

Hi everyone,

Newbie here. I'm using QLC to control a play at our church. Our Intimidator 455Z will be used to spot speakers on the stage.

I created several scenes for the play. The scenes have all the settings for the location (pan/tilt), focus, zoom, brightness, etc. The scenes are also set for a 2 second fade in and out.

I only set 1 channel for the fixture to be fadable - the one that controls the intensity of the light.

The 455Z has a setting to 'blackout' while the pan/tilt operations are in motion. This is on so that the spot isn't visible while the pan/tilt operations are occurring.

In the Virtual Console, I have buttons for each scene. We will turn each scene on/off with the button as the play progresses.

Here's the issue I can't figure out. When we turn off a scene, fade out works perfectly. When I turn on another scene, the pan/tilt process starts immediately as it should. The setting on the 455Z tells it not to turn on the spot until the pan/tilt is complete, which is working perfect. But, by the time the spot has reached it's new position, the 'fade' has already partially occurred, so it comes on suddenly about halfway through the fade.

I understand that QLC doesn't 'know' when the pan/tilt operations have completed...so what suggestions do you guys have to tell QLC to 'wait' maybe 1 second before it starts sending the fade commands?

Thoughts?

I only can say ... you will have to program your 'blackout during move' yourself.
The only way you precisely can control what happens.
dim down, reposition, wait?
All electric machines work on smoke... when the smoke escapes... they don't work anymore

My apologies - I'm new here! Thanks for moving.

Thanks for the confirmation...I ended up separating the 'movement' scenes with the 'intensity' scenes so we could click them on separately and wait a few seconds between them.

The production went off without a hitch last night. Thank you to Massimo and any other contributors towards this fantastic application! Non-profits like ours really appreciate and benefit from your work.
