I would love to have a system where right clicking/holding a modifier key + function button would put function into some sort of queue/buffer that would then be activated when pressing single button.
Use example:
band is playing and I know there is going to be mayor change in dynamics, they are playing really softly and I know there will be a mayor breakdown in the song. I am preparing myself to change the shit out of stage!
I put one finger on key for gobo I want, I put one finger on the button to shut down the leds, I put one finger on scene setting moving head position, I have to dim 4 different dimmer channels on my controller and at the same exact time I have to engage some LED bars and unfortunately .... I can't reach the last button, my hands are to far from it, occupied by other things I need to switch over and I can't switch everything I want at once I am a sad lights guy
but!
Imagine selecting function while holding down some key would not immediately activate or deactivate it, but put it into a queue/buffer until I press one magic button that activates everything I want at the same god damn time! That would make me happy! It would incredibly improve working live lights!
function queue/buffer

Collections only work if you have a scripted show in that case. If you are choosing live what you want to do with your lights, they're not so adapted.

I hear you and yes in busking environments this would come in very handy.
Did you know there is already a feature request? We are talking about palettes and groups here.
* A palette being a placeholder for let's say a color and a gobo combined but not tied to (a) fixture(s)
* groups speak for itself
Now ... select your group and select a palette: tadaa
But don't get overexcited - it is a feature request.
For this reason exactly, I use the Novation launchpad
one page are all the colours (for spot, spot, wash, wash, if RBG one's blinder, crowd, etc)
another page: gobo's, prism, the like and these again for spot, spot, wash, wash, crowd
All electric machines work on smoke... when the smoke escapes... they don't work anymore

Actually palettes and groups is completely different thing to what I am talking about.
Palettes and groups like in avolites are pretty much mechanic where palettes are scenes with colors and gobos for all the lights and groups are well.... groups of light.
In avolites if you select palette it will apply itself to all fixtures which are assigned in palette. If you first select group and then palette it will only apply palette to that group.
It is good mechanic, I don't know how well it would work with QLC due to a bit different methodology compared to avolites.
but queue/buffer is something completely different. In a nut shell imagine all the buttons you click with some modifier selected would turn a bit different color and there would be trigger key which when pressed would launch all those functions at the same time. I don't think it would be hard to implement either.

The function for which you're attempting to create, from what I understand, will be possible through the scripts function in QLC+ 5. Otherwise, it's all about programming your show to best utilize the software, as well as your own busking preferences. I program differently based on whether I'm on an Avolites, an MA, or a Chamsys (although all work in similar ways, except the MA which is lightyears ahead of the other two consoles). However, what you're requesting should be able to be accomplished through the scripts programming in QLC+5, as well as the groups and palettes function (if they're implemented).
