I think you mixed some posts.
One is that I added support for animated GIFs in QLC+ 4 and 5. This is related to RGB matrices.
Another one is that I started to convert gobos to SVG.

"Animate a SVG" is new to me. Please elaborate what you're trying to do.

This can be done in MA2 you can animate gobos on a led matrix shown here a ma2, https://youtu.be/0BZ_v0q_BAo?t=366

I have never used this software but I have seen on youtube shows done with light o rama, and this is the same effect done with that software and you can actually see the gobo of a spiral on the house. https://youtu.be/JeFyJN9qW48?t=69

To sum this up you put a gobo image into a matrix and you can adjust the speed like if it was in a moving head, rotation, speed and color and regular and inverse the image so what lights through. Example if you had a cross gobo image you can select to show the cross shape in color or inverse the cross shape will be shadowed and the out side would be colored.

In QLC+ you can use the "Image" preset of RGB Matrix and animate a picture.
At the moment only horizontal/vertical translation is supported.
Wouldn't be much difficult to add rotation, scale, and color manipulation though.

That would be awesome, but for this to work correctly wouldn’t have to be a png file with a transparent background so if it’s rotating you would only be able to see the gobo with out the square of the picture in the corners?

I'm curious...what is the difference between a transparent and a black color on a RGB LED ?

I will try to explain it because I saw this issue when you tried to animate a image, so if you have a image the exact same size as the led panel then you rotate the image to a diamond shape now you have triangle at each corner, that is fine if the image is black and the led panel is black you wont see that but if your image has a white back ground then you would.

Second what if you wanted to layer the led panel less say with a color scroll now your image is square is visible with color in the background. therefore if the gobo background is transparent you would see the black shadow of gobo on top of the color scroll or if you reverse it black background with the color scroll in the image itself.
