Hi all.

Always use lighting tables and very rarely software, today I use QLC + whenever I can.
With common lighting tables, the normal thing is that when you turn it off, and turn it on again, load the last project with which it was worked .... Somehow you get used to that ...
With QLC + done less similar behavior, or something similar to the chamsys software (a dialog box with different options)

This is not an essential function that determines the quality of the show or the possibilities of the software, I just think that it would be more comfortable to start a QLC + dialog with basically 3 buttons:

1.New project
2.Open last projet
3.Find project

In some way you will make fewer clicks to get to your project and maybe
for many it is an "expected" behavior ....

As I say it is not a vital function ... but I think that everything that saves cliks is to increase productivity ...

Guys what do you think? Could it be a valid function for QLC + v5?

Isn't the recent files list helpful at all ?
It's in QLC+ 4 (long press on open icon) and even faster on QLC+ 5: Actions -> Open project -> select first entry.
In both cases it's basically one click, like having a dialog at startup and clicking on the last saved project.

Most of the softwares I've seen, when you hit "new project" on the mentioned dialog, they even ask for a name and a location of the project file. Personal opinion: it bothers me sometimes (thinking of Cubase right now...)

Also, if you quickly want to go to Simple Desk to test some channels, a dialog on the way might be invasive.

I agree that it is fast already, especially looking forwards towards QLC 5. However, such a feature might be beneficial, say in the instance of the program crashing mid-show (and is right in front of you). That said, I believe it's fast enough in 5 to not need the dialog box.

I agree that currently it is fast enough and depending on the cases, it can even be annoying to have a dialog box before the software starts (it is true, cases like cubase or ardour creating a new project can be annoying)

I suppose it is the custom that only turning on the light console starts directly with the last project used, in sound consoles the same thing happens, a dialog box, you are right, almost always annoying.

I suppose that for me, the ideal would be to start qlc + and this will start with the last used project (in case of error in concerts it would be extremely fast to return to the show) ..

The current concept (start blank and, start creating show or call the show you need) is fast enough ... But as I say, (and I think) we are used to lighting consoles or sound of "all life "that start in the state they were turned off, Both start blank and show a dialog window is annoying.

I totally agree that the current system is really fast.
Maybe it's just a question of customs ...

You can start QLC+ by double-clicking on a QXW file in your OSes file browser.
Having a link to the latest file somewhere easy (eg. Desktop) could do what you want.
