Hi! Using 4.11.2 on Windows 10:
Steps to reproduce:
Make a new EFX function (Circle Movement with some heads is fine)
Place this EFX on a Show Track
Change the duration of the EFX and keep the default of "Loop function until duration is reached"
Close the duration dialog
... looks good so far ...
Click off the EFX function to deselect it
Click back on the EFX function on the track (maybe you wish to change the duration)...the duration selected on the show track disappears and reverts back to the duration of one loop of the EFX function.
Using the same EFX on the same track later on in a show also causes strange duration behavior... You can click one EFX function, and it changes all the same EFX functions back to the original EFX timing, losing the duration you have set on the show track.
EFX functions do not save/retain "Loop function until duration is reached"

Well, I tried and there's one thing to say.
The default duration of an EFX is 20s. In the show manager, if I decrease the duration to 10s using the show manager time tool, deselect/select the EFX brings it back to 20s.
I'd say this is expected, since I didn't modify the original duration (20s)
The unexpected result comes up when extending the time, say 30 seconds. Deselect/select the EFX, it goes back to 20s.
I need to check the code and see what happens.
Thanks for reporting.
[EDIT] it's interesting to notice that this doesn't happen with RGB Matrix, so it's definitely related to EFX

Even more strange - it will affect the duration on other shows if you use that same EFX on tracks on multiple shows...they are all linked together and REALLY like staying at their original duration!
I have a really nice pan/tilt EFX that I like to use at various durations in 8 different shows.
Thanks for looking

Please checkout the latest test version.
Now a Show item is bound to the original function duration until you modify the item duration.
