Hello,
I have spent some time watching the tutorials and studying the documentation so I have a reasonable handle on how QLC works I think. My objective is to control it using FL Studio, using MIDI loopback to trigger the functions.
I have a small concern with using EFX Movement. On the video tutorial #7 - Positions and EFX I see that Massimo can speed up the movement of a moving head using the speed dial. I can certainly get moving heads to slow down however the higher speed settings don't seem to reflect what I am seeing on the screen. I certainly cannot achieve anywhere near the speed of movement that Massimo gets?
Am I correct that on the "Hold" setting on the speed dial, if I set it to 2 seconds for example on a circle pattern the head on the 2D visualisation should do a complete rotation in 2 seconds? It doesn't it takes about 5 seconds. I see the same on other patterns also E.g. line. It is almost as if there is something limiting the speed of the visualisaton on screen.
Now I haven't actually connected any lights yet as I am just simply getting to grips with the software. I have also tried out several different moving heads and I am seeing the same.
Many thanks,
Steven

OS QLC+ version (and maybe hardware)
I cannot reproduce this ... mine can go upto lightning speed fast ... (not practical of course)
(don't use feed-in feed-out speed settings?)
Can you upload your project file (incl. custom fixtures?)

All electric machines work on smoke... when the smoke escapes... they don't work anymore

Hi GGGss,
Thanks for responding.
I have attached my very simple test project. I am not using any speed fade-in or out settings.
Thanks,
Steven

Hi,
An update. Not sure what I did but it suddenly started working as expected with the moving head cursor flying around the loop. I re-saved the project and when I re-open it is crawling again. Certainly seems to be some kind of bug.

Hi,
Further update. I think I have managed to track down the issue. My display (laptop) is 3840 x 2160 as soon as I temporarily reduced the resolution, it worked. I have also noticed that fonts and icons are overlapping in the console which I think is also related to this issue.
By the way I am on Windows 10
On the shortcut link in "Target" for QLC is "C:\QLC+\qlcplus.exe". I understand I can add something to the end of this to correct the scaling issue? Does anybody know what it is or another work around to solve these problems?
Thanks,
Steven

You just need to read the documentation: https://www.qlcplus.org/docs/html_en_EN ... swers.html

Hi Massimo,
Thanks for your reply. I have the following in the "target" field however it has made no difference:
C:\QLC+\qlcplus.exe /c "SET QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR=1 && START /D ^"C:\QLC+^" qlcplus.exe"
Have I done something wrong?
Thanks,
Steven

Hi Massimo,
Although it did not work, I have changed the resolution the program opens in my accessing Compatibility/Change High DPI Settings/Override high DPI scaling behavior, Scaling performed by: System
It now opens in lower resolution and has solved all the problems.
Many thanks,
Steven
