I’m using VDMX to organize my setlist of music videos and a QLC+ show to cue my sequence lights. I want to use a single MIDI command at the beginning of each VDMX-hosted music video to trigger its corresponding QLC+ show to play. (Or some other trigger method)
I suppose it wouldn’t matter what program played the Quicktime videos that VDMX would host. I just need to make sure QLC+ knows to start and knows which song is being played. Thoughts?
Thanks!
-Dana
(I’m using VDMX so that I can sync a second video too.)

Moved to QLC+ 4 usage questions then.
As for your question, please check the documentation. You might need to assign a MIDI signal to a Virtual Console button or the "next" action of a virtual console Cue List

Good advice - thank you. I think I can set up the cue list.
I created midi notes in Logic X and bounced the file, but when I play it in VDMX, QLC+ isn't detecting the notes in the inputs/outputs tab, even though I have 'From VDMX' selected as input. It doesn't show them on the right side of Universe 1. Thoughts?
Truly an honor to talk to you. You've created an amazing software app.

You might need to adjust the MIDI channel you're transmitting on, or in QLC+ the one where you receive the notes. Some controllers use the "OMNI" channel, in QLC+ it's called "1-16" channel.

I've tried every option. If I can ask a few questions:
Is QLab required to interpret the electric music roles into active MIDI notes?
Are the notes I created in Logic actually MIDI commands when played as a Quicktime file?
Thank you!!
