Hello everyone, Having a showtec phamtom 250sp fixture damaged, so broken that it was not worth fixing, only worked PAN / TILT / COLOR ... Then it occurred to me to do some invention, I asked, and if I put a camera ?, To be? Projector ?, Well, disassemble the device, empty everything that did not work (motors, sensors, lamp ... ect, and assemble it in a spacious way and with 3 motors step by step with its sensor working, look in my boxes of appliances damaged electronics and found a surveillance camera with infrared light, so it is mounted, use the Prism support to place the camera and that a motor could rotate 360º on its own axis, use the 12v of the transformer of the head to feed it (for safety reasons) mount a diode rectifier and a pair of capacitors, and finally pass the video cable from the camera to the base of the fixture with an RCA video output connector ....
for it to work properly I customized a library for QLC +, limiting the channel that rotates the camera, (the color wheel channel used, from a certain value DMX remains spinning endlessly ... which is not interesting, solved this, in the tests with QLC works amazingly well, after the test and with everything correct, the idea is to place it in the Tuareg club in Aguilas that the lighting is entirely managed with QLC +, put it to draw planes of the DJ mixing, make sweeps on the public , Plans of gogos (professional dancers) ect ect, showing the images on the screens of the disco in real time ..... Well, it is only an invention, I share it because I use QLC + for development, I attach some photos of the process of assembly of the invention ... Greetings

Interesting to know if the steppers are smooth enough you don't see any flicker in the image while changing position...
All electric machines work on smoke... when the smoke escapes... they don't work anymore

Hi Fredje
The pan / tilt movements work really fine and get to have a very smooth movement without vibration or blur, it will also depend a bit on the camera that is mounted, in this case it is zoom / fixed focus, adjust the two with some screws focusing at a fixed distance, and in every movement or sweep, everything that is at that distance, is well focused, the rotation of the camera on its axis is not so fine, when using the controller of the color wheel, the steps of the motor are very large, that is, from the first color to the second the engine takes many steps and the result is to turn the camera every 15º, to solve this use a gear reducer, so that 1/4 of the engine is equal to 1 / 16 camera, luckily, the color wheel, from a certain dmx value, agrees two colors, that in steps are half that before and between that and the reductive the camera is rotating, 180º in steps of 10º and others 180º in steps of 5º, I made a small video during the test phase s, the video is taken with a mobile phone and the image that the camera shows comes from an old cathode tube TV, and the phone flashes, but hey, it can be descriptive, I am attaching the link. a greeting
