win10 Alpha 2
. Add 1 dimmer on universe 1
. input - output arrangement
.. universe 1 = out feedback
.. universe 2 = in feedback
. on VC
.. add slider
.. level mode + dimmer 1 on universe 1
! (note that you don't get a visual clue of what is selected - so when checking afterwards which fixtures is/are level-moded -> search through all universes ???)
.. add slider
.. expand 'external Controls'
... try to attach feedback universe 2
ISSUE: catch 22: you can't because you only can use auto-detect and while you are in 'edit-mode' you cannot touch slider 1
(this will work with hardware external controllers I guess => not tested yet)
Issue VC + external controls = loopback

SOLUTION ??
dropbox enumerating Universes
combobox for Channel properties of External Controls

All electric machines work on smoke... when the smoke escapes... they don't work anymore

Are you talking about a loopback connection ?

YES In this case - as it is you have no way to select LOOPbacks ATM (typo above)
The same goes with Artnet inputs -> with the auto learn you are kinda stuck unless you can simulate something on the other end... (so ATM you have to create an environment on the other end (outputting to artnet) just to set the external control ?? Way too difficult.
(and advanced users will use the manual-entry feature setting external controls themselves without the need to create a input profile -> f.i. 5 inputs over artnet)
[edit] sorry confusing feedback with loopback - changed the subjects of this thread

As far as I know, automatic detection of loopback channels was not possible in QLC+ 4 as well.
There was a design mode and a dialog covering the VC.
So basically the only way to attach a loopback signal is manually.
Can you confirm this ?
Is that's the case, then yes, the manual input channel selection is completely missing ATM.

Confirm described QLC+4 behaviour -> manual input (or input profile) -> COMBOBOX
Waiting to be resolved to further regress testing feedback-feature (tried to tweak .qxw with no luck - I broke a copy of a project) [didn't have the courage to study v4 vs v5 .qxw]mcallegari wrote: ↑Tue Apr 03, 2018 5:27 pm If that's the case, then yes, the manual input channel selection is completely missing ATM.
