Hi,

A couple of months ago I already opened a thread on automated lighting for quizzes. I didn't manage to control the lights through QLCPlus, so my whole setup kindof failed and I had to revert to manual control.

What I did:
I put my DMX USB Pro between the lightning panel and some kind of DMX hub and setup QLCPlus to Pro RX/TX and passthrough ON. So the IN port of the DMX USB Pro was connected with DMX5 to the control panel and the OUT port was connected through an adapater to DMX3.

This seemed to be working great since I could control the lights from the mixer, even when QLCPlus was turned off.

However, opening any slider in QLCPlus didn't do anything. I didn't know the used channels so I tried all of them, but nothing hapened. When disconnecting the mixer, it suddenly worked, but with the mixer connected QLCPlus didn't seem to do anything.

Any tips on how to fix it next time? Also, is there an easy way to somehow cycle through all channels and figure out what fixtures are available? It's mostly RGB spots, so if I know one channel I'm pretty sure I can figure out what the others do.

USB pro what version?
What exact cabling? IN1? OUT1? OUT2?
The IN port is wired in parallel to one of the outputs. That would explain why did it work without QLC+ and didn't with it.
There's no way it would work without QLC+ when it is wired properly (input -> passthrough -> output)
What mode was USB pro in?

What happens when you connect input only (the light panel), without output. Do you see the panel's output in the fixture monitor?
(you may need to patch fixtures properly for this to work).

I have bought this one:
https://www.thomann.de/gb/enttec_dmx_us ... erface.htm

I connected the panels DMX OUT to the DMXUSB DMX IN and the DMXUSB DMX OUT to the hub / repeater / I don't really know what it did.
I tried multiple modes but first I tried the Pro RX/TX with passthrough checked.

I never saw any input from the panel in QLCPlus, and I was indeed wondering how it could work in the first place :)
I thought maybe the DMXUSB Pro was acting as a merger.

* Edit: After some googling I'm starting to think the DMXUSB Pro cannot be used this way.

Ok, got it. The interface is either an input or an output, so I guess the IN is parallel wired to the OUT and that's why it worked without software.
So I guess I'll have to buy a second interface and hook that up as output.
