Is it possible to use a single colour led with rgb Matrix

Heres my situation:
I tried adding a new fixture with only one channel RED. I set it up as a intensity channel and set it to red. I then made it to a group then added that group to the rgb matrix. i see the sample of the lights turning on in the display of the rbg matrix, but it dosent output the dmx to the channel. i then tried to go back into the fixture editor and add a green and blue channel to the same fixture. it then worked. but i only want to use one channel for the fixture. is there any way around this? thanks in advance.

I didn't try this solution - but what if you only use intensity in your fixture definition and use the 'intensity' option in the matrix??
All electric machines work on smoke... when the smoke escapes... they don't work anymore

If possible, set the red channels to Intensity group, and no color (effectively making them dimmer channels).
RGB matrix can drive array of dimmer channels (e.g. PAR cans).
The value is computed from color's intensity (e.g. full white = 100%, full red = 30%, full green = 59%, full blue = 11%, obviously black = 0%).

If you want red in the fixture monitor, assign red gel to the fixtures.

If this doesn't help, please attach fixture definition, your qxw, exact steps what did you do and what does it wrong.

I´m not sure about your intent, but here´s my approach. Works for all patterns, no need for extra fixtures...

If your intent is to manipulate only one channel in a multichannel fixture, I think you must use loopback.
In the attached file, only the RED channel of the 7-channel PARs are set through the matrix whereas
in the movingheads, only the dimmer channel will change...this is all mapped/patched through the knob controls.
Maybe there is a better solution and the community will let us know...
