I try to use "RGB matrix" but it does not work.

Ask a generic question about the usage of QLC+, not related to a particular operating system

Good morning.
I am trying to use the "RGB matrix" function with 6 channel lighting fixtures, but I can not work and I want to ask why.
I refer to the reference image while looking at the link below.

https://youtu.be/ovr3CSSbfgY
I'm not sure if it's related to what I can not do,
When I tell you the difference from the video,

In the image(picture1), pressing the "fixture group" folder places one lighting fixture in a single compartment,

When I click on the "fixture group" folder, one channel is placed one by one (picture 2)

Is this related? If so, which part should I fix?

Or should I check out the other part?

Hey,

please first of all share your workspace file!
As a first guess I also would say you have the wrong type of fixtures in the group - should be a RGB fixture and not multi channel dimmers.

Just as I guessed, you used generic dimmers with multiple channels, so for every channel, there is created a separate head. Use proper fixtures (e.g. the generic RGB one) which will have only one head per fixture.

Welcome to the community,

1) Your RGB Matrix 3 does not work because you didn't include a master level fader or scene. They do work, but you can't see anything because you lack intensity.

2) Your RGB panel is wrongly set up. You defined a 24 x 4 matrix, where your fixtures are selected in a 24 channel mode. In this mode, you only have 4 cells (heads) per fixture. So a correct RGB panel would be a 4x4 matrix. Because your fixtures are RGBWAUv, you cannot use the create RGB panel function. It will override and use false color emitters.
With this configuration, you will have to be creative by creating the RGB matrix in another universe and then patching your real fixtures using a loopback construction. This can become a little overwhelming at first, but it is doable.

Hi All,

I'm encountering the same with three fixtures of type AYRA Compar KIT 2(for which I use the KIT3 definition since there is currently no definition for KIT 2 but this seems to work perfectly) . These have each 4 RGB Pars on one bar. So reading this tread I assume that this is why they cannot be used in RGB matrix.

But still I have two questions :

1° In the tutorial of Massimo about RGB Matrix he uses a 4PAR bar; "DOTZ Bar 1.4".
What exactly is it that makes these bars working in the matrix and mine not ?

2° isn't it possible to "instruct" QLC+ to treat the AYRA Compar KIT 2 as one PAR? I assume that in that case all 4 PARs on the bar recieve the same properties. If that is possible than that limits drastically the possibilities on stage but it could also drastically speed up the building proces of a show.

I have added my QXW file in case someone wants to check but please be informed that I have literaly just a few hours of experience with QLC+(and also with stage lightning in general)

Your bars were not working because the Master Level of your Fixtures was set to zero (read: was not set, so default to zero).
If you change the slider on your VC from Submaster to Level Mode (and select the proper Channel for each Fixture) it will work.

Tip: unbox the Master Level channel in the scenes you made (as it might override your slider).
You also need to fix your Blue and Green scenes: all color channels should be boxed.

on the Fixtures tab double click your Fixture and on the Properties screen change the Mode from "16 channel" to "7 channel".
Tip: make a back up before you do this.
