Hi folks, how are you today?
I am in a theater that has:
Universe 1: Dimmers (Fresnel, PARs.....)
Universe 2: Cycloramas, Robe Moving head spot 575w, PAR led.....)
I'm using windows 8 and an ENNTEC USB PRO MK2 interface.
I am not able to configure it to use the two universes without problem.
How do I make the physical and virtual connection?
Some help?
Universe 1 and 2 simultaneously

physical connection:
- USB from computer to enttec device
- breakout cable from enttec to DMX cables (you'll need breakout cable that has two DMX out cables).
Note1: you can't use DMX1 IN and DMX1 OUT simultaneously (they are wired in parallel to the same pins on the chip)
Note2: here is pinout (unverified) http://pinoutguide.com/Home/enttec_DMX_pinout.shtml in case you want to make your own breakout cable
you need to set mode 5 for your device (I don't know where, most probably in a config utility for the device), see http://qlcplus.org/docs/dmxusbplugin.html section 4
virtual:
in Input/output tab:
- create two universes in QLC+ (QLC+ starts with 4 so you probably you don't need this)
- check settings for enttec plugin (wrench and screwdriver icon, see http://qlcplus.org/docs/dmxusbplugin.html section 2) and select Pro Mk2 mode
- select universe 1
- check enttec pro output 1 in the output column
- do similarly for universe 2
you can check your settings by moving sliders in simple desk.
now you can start patching your fixtures in the fixtures tab.
that's it.
