looking close to the uppercase letter "D" ?

Problem is, that currently EFX has only one time parameter: "speed". There is no duration parameter.
Maybe if you put it in a chaser you can set a duration, but I doubt it. David has rewritten time management here:
https://github.com/mcallegari/qlcplus/pull/966 that most probably could allow that (though I haven't looked thoroughly).
But it's not included in the main version yet.
