yeah this would be great!
In the windows software WINGS, you can easily insert a midi-command into the show timeline.
it would be great to have this feature in qlc, best would be to have the possibility to write as many midi commands as you like to control also more than one external device

Chrissi, you can control MIDI device using MIDI output plugin (which works in a slightly different way than the MIDI input).
Assign MIDI output to a universe, create some dummy fixtures, scenes and you can output either Note on/off, PC or CC.
You need one universe for each MIDI device you want to control.
If you need more info, provide more information.
Note: I've moved your post to a new topic, since you talk about different thing than the OP (he talks about https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIDI_Show_Control)

thanks. to be honest, why does it have to be so complicated to send midi commands?
creating a fixture and a separate universe...
i made a workaround to control my audiomixer directly with qlc+, if anyone wants to know how have a look here: viewtopic.php?p=46438#p46460
