HI, I am having a problem with creating a Sequence. I have two pars that I am try to make change colour (Red, Green, Blue). I have created a Scene containing the two cans. Then I create a Sequence, Step 1=Red, Step 2=Green, Step 3=Blue. When I click on each step they work OK, but when I Play the Sequence the colours are mixing together. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? Help please? Many thanks.

Hi,
can you post your qxw file here? Did you use fade out time (i.e. non-zero time)? In that case fading out of a step is mixed with the next one.

Hi RayArt,
I had a quick look at your show file. Working with sequences in Scenes can be a bit tricky depending on what you have clicked on at the time. I have felt this frustration before and still do. I haven't really worked out the precise steps!
However, when your tests aren't working correctly, it usually means the scene is holding some values that are playing over the top of the sequence. If you click your sequence and then back on the scene you will notice the faders are up.
If you click the scene and then pull the faders down and then re-try your sequence it work correctly when you test it.
If you add a button or slider in the virtual console, and then run the sequence from there it should work correctly also.
I have created a button in the attached workspace for you.
Cheers
Mark

Hi Mark,
many thanks for your reply, and your time, it's much appreciated. I have now managed to get a Sequence to work and have added another two fixtures also. I can now create a simple colour change Sequence. But now I need to know how you do this within the Show Manager? The problem here is that after I create the Sequence on a Track I cannot go to the Scene to reset the channels, and you cannot get back to the Sequence editor in the Show Manager so I am having similar problems. Any ideas? The reason I want to use QLC is to create light shows to go with specific pieces of music, is it possible to do this or would it be better to create Scenes and Chases and then run them manually from Virtual Consol? The Sequence is really very difficult. Again many thanks for your time and help.

Hi Rayart,
Show manager is an interesting part of QLC+. I have used it a couple of times and it has done the job. However, it took quite a bit of time and experimenting to get the effects I wanted.
I found in the end the best approach was to try and separate your lights out into groups that work together and create a track for each of them. Because the show manager is designed to be time based, you have to realise that if you add a scene to it, a sequence will be created so that you can specify how long you want it to run.
I haven't really found the best work flow but I did find adding sequences in show manager and working with them there seemed more reliable that creating them in the functions area and then adding them. Each time you add a sequence it creates a copy and it is easy to get copies of copies of copies if you are not careful.
The show manger is a very powerful tool and you should have a good read through the documentation as you experiment.
good luck!

Here is a very simple example for you.
I don't have fixture definitions for your lights so I have no idea what they do...
Cheers
