DMX dump of input pass through?

I am hoping to use DMX Dump to capture dmx data on some input. With pass through enabled for the universe I can see the dmx is working and values are changing, but when I try to do a dump all channels have zero value on the new function. Am I missing something or just going about this the entirely wrong way?

Sorry I did not mention specifics, I am running QLC+ 4.10.4 32 bit on Ubuntu 32 bit 12.04. I am using DMX King eDMX4 interfaces. Thank you for any help!
