Hi all !!!
Totally newbie!
I'm looking for a computer base light controller and found QLC+ really interesting. But i do not understand how you can go without a keypad and a Command Line. I'm lost! How do you compose your scenes? You have to move each fader with the mouse? OK... Let say i want to record channel 12 thru 33 except 22 + 41 thru 54 at full in cue 1.
I (and you too) can do that in 3sec. with any command Line base board. What is the fastest way to do it with QLC+ ?
Sorry for my so so english... going back tutorial trying to figure it out...
Thanks a lot!
No Command Line ???

Welcome to the forums. There is a little bit of a learning curve with this software but it is worth learning. This is very good and powerful software so I suggest that you do a few tutorials to learn the basics first. You can click on the question marks on the top of the software for a full explanation of the different functions and such. After that you can use the links below for more help. Good luck.

Hi again !!!
It is obvious at first glance that the software is very powerful. The GU is already attractive and from the preview you probably saw from Q LC +5 WOW!!!!!! I guess you experienced users can't wait. For me, it seems that it's not going to be easy to go with that new way of doing. It's a bit like driving a car every day for 30 years with a stick shift and a clutch and from one day to the next, got in car with automatic transmission. I'm constantly looking for the keypad and the command line. I suppose i'm in a hurry to do all sorts of things that QLC+ allows you to do!
For the time being...Back again to documentations...
Thanks again!

I hear ya! I also use Martin M-PC so I know the need to type in the commands and mappings etc. A little know how and this software is great and once you know how; easy to use.

I understand your point guys, but, hey, the world evolves !
We live in a digital era, with touchscreens of all sorts, so I though it was time for QLC+ to evolve as well, not to look like a dinosaur in a futuristic landscape.
We (Linux users) are still very addicted to command lines, bits and bytes, but when you realize you take 30 seconds to do what a UI does in 1 second, maybe it's time to ask yourself a question, and evaluate if it is time to evolve.
With QLC+ 4 we tried to cover as much as possible all the different needs, from keyboard lovers, to mouse lovers, to fader lovers, to touchscreen lovers.
QLC+ 5 is going (hopefully) in a direction where a mouse/keyboard really slows you up, and most likely we'll need to evolve again

If it wasn't for Linux you Windows guys wouldn't have QLC+ at all.
