Hello QLC Users,
i'm Nils from Germany and an absolut Newbie in all that light stuff. But I found that a very intresting thematic.
I bought via ebay a Lightmaxx CLS-3 and use it with the IR Remote control. But now i want more
So as a Macbook User i install QLC + an here i am.
so the first i want to do is create a fixture for my Lightmaxx Cls-3
First I only want to start with the 6 Channel mode and not with the 19 Channel mode.
So how to start, or have anyone already mad a fixture for that compoment ?
Best greetings
Nils

Hello,
you can create a fixture with the fixture editor, the documentation should give away everything you need to start with it.
I was bored, so I searched the manual, found it to be incomplete and a little bit confusing (amber or white?) and created it the best I could. It features every possible mode (4, 6, 9, 16 and 19 channels).
Please test how this 15 colour section thing with channel 4 and 5 work when using 9-channel-mode and program Flow 8 or Flow 9. I would like to know, if the DMX values that pick the colours are from 0-255 or just a part of it. This isn't clear in the manual. Also 19-channel-mode isn't even described, with a little bit of researching I found out the functionality of it. What the manual doesn't mention either is the ability to control both sockets on the bar via DMX. What is described as 7-channel-mode is now 9-channel-mode as far as I could find out, in this mode only you can control those.
For anyone who wants to overlook it, here it is:

Reference for 19-channel-mode and socket control (caution: german forum):

The 'manual' says 4/6/7/16/19 channel modes.
4 is easy - R, G, B, W.
6 is easy - 4 plus dimmer and sound/strobe.
7 - Channel 1: 16-135 are colour macros, 136+ are programs and 240+ is sound mode.
Channel 2: Dimmer/Speed/Sensitivity.
Channel 3: Strobe.
Channel 4/5/6/7: R, G, B, W/ 15 colour section <- It looks like R and G are used to choose two colour macros for use with Flow 8 and Flow 9. Is this the case?
9 - There is no 9 channel mode.
16 is easy - R, G, B, W x4 heads.
19 - Mentioned in the 'manual as optional (WTF?)' but not described.
Who writes these user manuals? Is it the designers' children? Google translate does a better job.

Yep, this manual is crap. As mentioned above I found out that there were updates by lightmaXX, which aren't in this manual I could find.boxy wrote:The 'manual' says 4/6/7/16/19 channel modes.

Apparently the R and G in 7/9-channel-mode are choosing the colours as you mentioned, I guess it's the same like the "red" channel of the Stairville LED Flood 7x3W which chooses speed and other things when in specific modes.
Thanks for the manual Nils, but there are a some differences in the other modes I stumbled apon. So it doesn't seem to have the same functionality DMX-wise and without being confirmed that the functionality is the same, it is quite useless... There is even a 21-channel-mode which doesn't seem to exist at the lightmaXX.

Yes you are right it description is a little bit confusing.
The two more channels for example in the 9 Channel mode are for the two Powersockets on the bar. To switch them on or off.
I found a similar Lightbar the Cameo Multi Par 3.
There is a better description: http://adamhall.invaliddomain.de/out/me ... _PL_IT.pdf
There you find all channel modes. I attach the 9 Channel mode. I'll try the qfx in the next days and i give you a feedback.
Thans a lot.
Greetings
Nils

Updated it in my first post.
The duplication is necessary for 16-channel-mode where you can control each head's RGBW. So "Red 2 (0-100%)" is channel red for head 2. Removed the "Red 1" channel since it's really not necessary. Also found a few mistakes I built in...

So, i tested the fixture and it worked well.
The only thing that does not worked like expected is the strobe on channel 3.
Even on the highest level (255) the lights are blinking very slow.
No compare to the manual strobe effect via IR Remote.
Have you got an idea what can be the reason for that ?
Greets Nils
