Option to add fixtures greyed out

I am a new user who has just installed the qlcplus_raspbian_wheezy 21/10/15 image

The button to add new fixtures is greyed out in the program. Other elements of the interface such as the inputs/output panel appear to be functioning normally.

Any suggestions appreciated.
