While I am still quite new at using qlcplus I have gotten quite a collection of shows over the last six months. I am going into a period where I will not be as busy and thought I would take time to build a "master " show with all my fixtures and basic functions for all of them in one show. Then when I have a new venue or show to light I will copy and tweak the master. Is that how long term user do things? I find it tedious to redo functions but also forget which fixture I left out for a particular show.
I wish there was a way to propagate a function from one show to another. Thanks for listening .
How do you do it?

I don't know of a way to export functions, though that could be pretty useful. It would also probably be difficult to implement since the functions' channel values are tied to the fixtures present in the workspace, and when you delete a fixture, any channel values go with it for the functions tied to it. I would think trying to import a function would have the same effect since there wouldn't be a way to tell QLC to map everything correctly without a lot of manual involvement. That being said, there is a way to export fixtures, but doesn't accomplish what you're looking for.
I'm not an expert by any means, but I more or less do the same thing. I have one master workspace that contains every fixture available to me and all the functions I've made thus far. My only issue with this is that it's still pretty cluttered even with my high levels of OCD folder organization (and, like you, cost me many many hours when I started consolidating functions from smaller one-off workspaces I'd made).
